Statement by the President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League International on the Occasion of Mother’s Day

Lahore: Dr Ghazala Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League International, said in her statement on the occasion of Mother’s Day that in Islam, every single day teaches us to recognise a mother’s greatness and to serve her. A mother plays a central role in raising children and shaping a civilised, model society. She said that a mother is one of the greatest blessings, whose love, compassion, and prayers leave a lasting mark on a person’s entire life. A mother is a child’s first school, first teacher, and first guide — she nurtures her children not only physically but also spiritually, morally, and intellectually.
She said that throughout human history, across civilisations and in every religion and society in the world, the bond of motherhood has held the highest, most sacred, and most honoured place. A mother sacrifices her own wishes, comfort, and countless conveniences of life for the happiness, education, upbringing, and success of her children. Her love is selfless, her devotion is pure, and her prayers are the greatest strength a person can have.
The President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League International said that the demands of modern life, the race for material gain, and the growing use of technology have distanced people from their closest relationships. Today, there is a real need for us to revisit our priorities — to spend more time with our mothers, to serve them, to respect their feelings, and to make them feel that they are a very important person in our lives. A civilised, dignified, and conscious society can only be built when its mothers are educated, virtuous, and strong in character. A mother is in fact the true architect of nations, because it is she who teaches her children honesty, integrity, love, tolerance, respect for humanity, and high moral values. If mothers raise their generations well, society can become a cradle of peace, love, and positive values.
