Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has rendered great services for the empowerment of women in Muslim society. He has established international standard universities and colleges for women in underprivileged areas, from where thousands of women have completed their higher education. The Minhaj-ul-Quran International has highlighted the educational and nurturing role of the mothers of the believers, paving the way for women to lead successful lives and establish society on the principles of Islamic moderation.
These sentiments were expressed at a special symposium held on the occasion
of the 73rd birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, organized
under the auspices of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League. Participants included
Samia Raheel Qazi, Justice (Retd) Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi, Sohail Warriach, Wasif
Nagi, Syed Fahd Kazmi, Dr. Haleema Sadiya, Dr. Humaira Majid, Dr. Tayyiba Islam,
Sidra Karamat, and Rafia Arooj Malik expressed their views on the occasion.

Tahir-ul-Qadri for women empowerment and welcomed the guests.
Jamat-i-Islami leader Samia Raheel Qazi, while expressing her views on the occasion, said that with the positive and active Islamic roles of women, Pakistan can be made peaceful and prosperous. Everyone should come together with a common and mutual respect and the role of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and its women leaders is admirable.
Renowned columnist and scholar Sohail Warraich expressed his views and said that Islam is a modern way of life and Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has introduced the enlightened face of Islam to the world.
He said that he was extremely pleased to see women working shoulder to shoulder with men in Minhaj-ul-Quran, and the role of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League in providing education and training to women is commendable.
In his remarks, Wasif Nagi said that former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told him at a ceremony that when he was on a tour of Malaysia, he asked the Malaysian Finance Minister to recommend a book on economics for fixing Pakistan's economy, so he put a book written by Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri in front of him and said, "Take guidance from here. This personality is alive. Contact him and take suggestions."
Wasif Nagi said that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri is an educated face of Pakistan. He said he personally believed that his expertise and capabilities have not been utilized.
In her views, Dr. Haleema Sadiya said that Minhaj-ul-Quran is a role model for women's education in this era. Dr. Humaira Majid praised the educational and nurturing environment of Minhaj-ul-Quran and said that educated women are the ornament of progress.
Fahd Kazmi said that Islam is the greatest protector of women's rights. Dr. Tayyiba Sohail said that personalities like Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri change the fate of nations. We need to educate women for a developed country. Dialogue opens the doors of progress. She prayed for the long life of Shaykh-ul-Islam on his 73rd birthday.
Senior leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran Brig. (Retd) Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Farooq Rana, Jawwad Hamid, Noorullah Siddiqui, Hafiz Saeed Raza Baghdadi, Shahzad Rasool, Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry, Hafiz Abid Bashir, women leaders Sana Waheed, Anila Ilyas Dogar, and a large number of faculty members and students from the Minhaj Girls College participated in the symposium.
The ceremony concluded with the cutting of the cake on the 73rd birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam.
