The 36th foundation day of Minhaj Women League was celebrated at the central secretariat. In his special message on the occasion, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri lauded the efforts and commitment of MWL over the last 35 years and said that the provision of awareness to the women about their rights and their training as per moral, and spiritual lines is an amazing achievement.
He said that the women associated with MWL have been working for the promotion of women rights agenda, their empowerment and participation in national life in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
“Their role in the building of a just society and restoration of moral values is praiseworthy,” he added.
A central foundation-day ceremony was held at the secretariat in Model Town Lahore in which President MQI Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the guest of honour. Along with MWL leaders, he cut the cake to celebrate the event. Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Ayesha Mobashar and Sidra Karamat expressed their views on the occasion.
Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan appreciated the MWL leaders and workers for their commitment and devotion to the cause of Islam and women rights. He said the passion and utmost sense of responsibility with which they conveyed the Islamic teachings to the women in every nook and corner of the country is indeed worthy of praise.
Sidra Karamat threw light on the nationwide services of MWL and said that the organization has worked hard to empower women, enabling them to play their role for the restoration of value-based society. She said that MWL has made women aware of their role in the construction of society and their own rights and responsibilities in it.
“We are proud of the humble efforts we have made to advance the vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam and we will continue this journey with the same zeal and zest,” she added.
Rafia Arooj, Hadeeq Batool, Anshrah Naveed, Saba Aslam, Maryam Iqbal, Naureen Alvi, Ayesha Siddiqua, and GM Malik were present on the occasion.
