Mustafavi Sisters organized a 'Markaz-e-Ilm' introduction and model class for student mutakifat in Itikaf 2025. Featuring Miss Umme Habiba Ismail, General Secretary MWL Pakistan, the session aimed to introduce the concept of 'Markaz e Ilm' (Center of Knowledge) and demonstrate effective teaching methods for Islamic education.
She emphasized that 'Markaz e Ilm' centers are designed to provide women with opportunities for Islamic learning and personal growth. She highlighted the importance of connecting Islamic teachings to everyday life, encouraging interaction, and sparking student interest.
The model class began with a discussion on the significance of one's first thoughts upon waking, linking it to spiritual health. Miss Habiba Ismail explained that the initial thoughts upon waking reveal the dominant influences on our "nafs" (self) and hearts. If worldly concerns dominate, it indicates a potential imbalance in our spiritual priorities. Ideally, our first thoughts should be of gratitude and remembrance of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala). This first thought is a good indicator of the condition of our hearts. This approach effectively demonstrated how to connect abstract Islamic concepts to students' everyday experiences, making the lessons more relatable and impactful.
She provided practical tips for delivering engaging classes, focusing on relatable examples and interactive sessions. The event aimed to equip the student mutakifat with tools to enhance their spiritual and intellectual development during their Itikaf.
