Dr. Ghazala Qadri delivered a lecture today at the Women Itikaf City, delving into the significance of seeking knowledge. Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri also attended the lecture in Women Pindal.
Drawing from the teachings of the Sunnah, she elucidated how knowledge (ilm) serves as a cornerstone for individual elevation and societal progress. Quoting various Hadiths, she highlighted the Holy Prophet's (pbuh) emphasis on seeking knowledge as an obligation incumbent upon every Muslim, regardless of gender or age.
Central to her talk were the gatherings centered on knowledge acquisition (Majalis ul Ilm), stressing their superiority over gatherings focused solely on remembrance (Majaalis ul Zikr), citing examples from the Sunnah where the Holy Prophet (pbuh) himself encouraged his companions to seek knowledge and engage in intellectual discourse.
Moreover, Dr Ghazala emphasized the unique platform offered by the Women Itikaf City, where attendees are encouraged not only to absorb knowledge but also to actively engage in its dissemination. She also stated how knowledge serves as a means of seeking forgiveness and drawing closer to Allah. Her lecture served as a powerful reminder of the importance of seeking knowledge in Islam.
