Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), attended virtually a parliamentary meeting of Minhajians Forum that consists of the graduates and scholars of College of Shariah and Modern Sciences.

President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri gave away shields among 25 Minhajians who completed their PhDs on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the occasion.

The meeting was attended by President Minhajians Forum Dr Naeem Anwar Naumani, Jawwad Hamid, Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Dr Khurram Shahzad and a large number of Minhajians.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that MQI is a movement of knowledge, and awareness dedicated to promoting wisdom and enlightenment. He said that he is happy to note that the graduates of COSIS are playing their part in spreading awareness and imparting moral and spiritual training to the people inside Pakistan as well as overseas through Islamic Centers.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the process of education, learning and teaching started with the raising of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He (pbuh) instructed his companions and beautified and edified their character. Then the companions took it upon themselves to become the heir of the Holy Prophet’s (pbuh) legacy of knowledge and communicated it to others as his worthy deputies. The Holy Prophet’s (pbuh) teachings did not remain confined to making the companions merely preachers and scholars. Rather they were schooled in the art of becoming servants of the people, teachers, spiritualists and guides. The Holy Prophet (pbuh) gave the people living in the mountainous and sandy regions their purpose of life and told them that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance and harmony that stands for the fulfillment of the rights of all without any discrimination.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that the sword was never used to spread the message of Islam in the world. He said that whenever Muslims took up arms, they did so to challenge the tyrants, oppressors and dictators and to protect the suffering humanity. He said that Islam spread far and wide of the world due to character of Muslims. He said that the journey of Islam is characterized by constant struggle. He said that all companions were the advocates and promoters of the message of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Minhajians are the heir to knowledge of the holy companions and Mustafavi mission. Their purpose of their life, he said, is that whatever knowledge, wisdom and intellectual wherewithal they got from their alma mater, they would convey it to others. He asked them to hold one position or another so that they stay in touch with the central secretariat and have their spiritual and emotional bond renewed and strengthened. He asked them to set up centers of knowledge in their homes so that the Islamic teachings continue to travel from one generation to the other and the people continue to benefit from the thoughts and ideology of MQI.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated President Naeem Anwar Naumani and all office-bearers of Minhajians Forum for convening the meeting of Parliament and said that such forums establish the relationship of Minhajians working in the field with the central secretariat. He emphasized the need for holding similar programmes more often.

Raja Zahid Mahmood Qadri, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, Lehrasiab Gondal Advocate, Chaudhry Shahzad Rasool, Allama Waseem Afzal and Maulana Muhammad Hussain Azad were also present on the occasion.
