MWL (Halifax) holds its first Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference

Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is the most blessed time of the year; it is the time of the arrival of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was sent as mercy for all creations.

To celebrate this historic day, Minhaj Women League Halifax held their Annual Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference on Sunday 10th December, 2017.

The programme commenced with recitation of the holy Quran beautifully recited by Sister Robina (MWL Halifax, Dawah Secretary). Following this salutations were sent on our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and naat was recited by Sister Rifhat (member).

Sister Shahida-ul-Haq (MWL Sheffield) delivered a speech in Urdu on the topic of the love for our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. She emphasised how our love for our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ should surpass our love for anyone or anything else, and she explained how without the love of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ our being is meaningless; it is like having a body without a soul.

The Urdu speech was following by an English speech by sister Tahira Afzal. She highlighted the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and how forgiving and merciful he ﷺ was. She encouraged the audience to seek forgiveness if we have wronged, and never give up on the mercy and blessings of Allah (SWT) and his beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

A special performance was given by Nelson Sisters Naat Group who recited beautiful and heart-touching naats encouraging the audience to join in.

The programme came to end with Zikr led by Sister Jamila (MWL Halifax, President) and dua by Sister Shahida. Food was served at the end to all attendees.
