UK: MWL (Barking Wing) holds Mawlid gathering

On Sunday, the 26th of January 2014, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (London, Barking Wing) held a Mawlid gathering in order to celebrate the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). It was organized at the Community Centre, Eton Road in Ilford. It was an honour for MWL as the Mehfil took place in the presence of the Chief Guest, Mrs Jamila Ghafoor.

The gathering started with recitation of the Holy Quran. This was followed by narration of nasheeds of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) by Mrs Jannat ul Firdous, Sister Isha Ahmed, Sister Kalsoom Adam, Sister Rabia and Sister Madiha Zeeshan. This was followed by a short introduction to the mega project of Minhaj Education City by Sister Memoona Fatima. Sister Ambreen Hussain presented the work of Minhaj Welfare Foundation to the audience.

Sister Khadija Atkinson introduced Shaykh-Ul-Islam Dr Mohammad Tahir Ul Qadri’s new book on Mawlid. She also delivered a speech on the importance of celebrating Mawlid and also threw light on why we celebrate Mawlid. Her speech was followed by a short but descriptive speech by Sister Sehrish Mobeen on Aqeedah. She said that Aqeedah is presented in the Holy Quran and there is a statement in which Almighty Allah plainly and clearly informs us: “He is Allah, the One, Allah, the absolutely independent upon whom all depend. He doesn’t beget nor was he begotten. And there is none comparable to him.” (Surah Al-Ikhlas : S. 112)

This was a very successful programme. It ended with Salam which was beautifully read by Sister Kalsoom Adam and the Dua. The guests were gifted with Shaykh-Ul Islam’s lecture CD’s and DVD’s by Minhaj Dawah project representatives who had set up a stall. Food was distributed before the sisters departed.
