On Sunday, the 17th of November 2013, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (London) organized a ‘Sirat-e-Sayyida Fatima-al-Zahra (RA)’ program. The program commenced after Zuhr prayers with the recitation and translation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sister Zareeda Shafiq & Hafiza Maimuna Bukhari. After the recitation of the Holy Quran, Sisters Nuzhat Pervaiz, Nargis, recited Naats and praised the honour of our beloved Holy Prophet (SAW) and Hafiza Maryam Noor Hussain recited a ‘manqabat’.

Sister Zareeda Shafiq opened the proceedings of the program by welcoming the participants and thanked them for attending this blessed gathering of ‘Sirat-e-Syeda Fatima-al-Zahra (RA)’ program. Young sister Tayyibah Shabbir recited Naat in her beautiful voice and sent greetings and salutation on the Holy Prophet (SAW) and his family (RA). Sister Bismah Ali delivered a short speech in English regarding Imam Hussain’s (AS) blessed personality and the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) love for him and how the Imam’s company was treasured by the blessed Companions. She emphasized that those that are martyred in the way of Allah Almighty and in the way of defending Islam are alive yet we as humans cannot see them.

The speech delivered by Tanzila Mehmood of Muslim Youth League was a detailed overview of the Love of the Prophet’s Household and the parents and lineage of Imam Husayn (AS). She stated that Syedina Imam Hussain (RA) was a clear representative of Islam and beautifully explained that anything that belonged to Syedina Imam Hussain (RA) belonged to the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Syyida Fatima-tul-Zahra (RA). This included characteristics such as the courage to fight and the courage to deal with an evil regime. Each and every characteristic of Syedina Imam Hussain (RA) was completely coloured and scented with Holy Prophet’s (SAW) and Syedda Fatima-tul-Zahra’s (RA) fragrance.

Scholar Sehrish Mobeen delivered her speech in Urdu about the ‘seerah’ of Syyida Fatima-tul-Zahra (RA) clarifying misconceptions about her marriage with Hazrat Ali and the great upbringing that they gave to Imam Hussain (AS) and Imam Hassan (AS). She established crystal clearly in the light of the Quranic verses and hadith that the accursed Yazeed was indeed a kafir (disbeliever) and not just a mere sinner who sought to debunk the teachings of Islam. But the great Imam offered a grand sacrifice to save Islam from any possibility of being disfigured. She concluded her speech by urging the participants to buy lectures and books of Shaykh-ul-Islam and gift them to their families and friends.

Minhaj-ul-Quran women League London president Nusrat Mahmood detailed the establishment of ‘Halqa-e-Iman’ classes in 12 local areas of London and thanked all sisters involved for their hard work, especially the General Secretary for organising the event in such a short period of time. The gathering concluded with greetings and salutations upon the Holy Prophet (SAW) and the family of the Holy Prophet (SAW) by Sister Nur Adeela, which was followed on with an emotional Zikr & Dua by scholar Sehrish Mobeen. Food was served at the end of programme.
