Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, central Amir of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that second Caliph of Islam Hazrat Umar e Farooq (R.A), may Allah be please with him, established a comprehensive and organized system of accountability which had a provision of even holding the Caliph accountable. He said that Hazrat Umar e Farooq (R.A) was a talented and privileged personality for whose acceptance of Islam the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, had implored his Lord in the solitude of nights. He said that ever-green plant that the holy Prophet, peace be upon him, had beseeched the Creator to beautify the garden of Islam was none other than Hazrat Umar e Farooq (R.A). The holy Prophet, peace be upon him, included him among his closest company.
He said that Hazrat Umar’s intelligence, wisdom, political and administrative insight, and establishment of socio-economic justice system was not only acknowledged by the fellow Muslims but also other nations who hugely benefited from his inheritance to build their own governance structures. He said that accepting the effectiveness of his welfare system, Europe based its model on the system founded by the great Caliph.
Amir-e-Tehreek expressed these views while addressing ‘Sayyidna Farooq-e-Azam Conference’ held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama council at the central secretariat of MQI. Allama Sadiq Qureshi, Allama Syed Farhat Hussain Shah, Allama Asif Akbar Mir, Allama Mumtaz Saddiqi, Allama Ghulam Asghar Saddiqi, Allama Usman Sialvi, and other Ulama and Mashaykh attended the conference in large number.
Addressing on the occasion, Allama Sadiq Qureshi said that Hazrat Umar’s acceptance of Islam not only proved beneficial for the Muslims and instrumental for spread of the religion but also proved equally destructive for the non-Muslims. He said that with the change of heart of one person, the entire community of Makkah experienced a revolution.
Central President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council, Allama Syed Farhat Hussain Shah said that Hazrat Umar e Farooq (R.A) presented himself for accountability first before he conducted accountability of others. He said that Huzrat Umar established the finest system of army, police, revenue, jail, Bai-tul-Maal and salaries and successfully ran it during his caliphate. He said that the second caliph of Islam set up new cities and established a system of canals, census-taking, carving of provinces and districts and fixation of salaries of the government officials. He made the education and moral training mandatory for everyone, successfully oversaw its implementation and meted out punishment to those who failed to abide by it. He said that the great caliph would visit streets and bazars under guise to get in touch with the situation on the ground and take strict action for resolution of people’s problems.
Allama Asif Akbar Mir said that Hazrat Umar e Farooq (R.A) would greatly care for the day of reckoning, adding that he would fear appearance in the court of Allah Almighty and burst into tears at times due to fear of Allah. He said that Allah almighty had blessed Hazrat Umar with such a personality that the very mention of his name would bring about earthquake in the great empires of those times.
