Ms Noshaba Zia, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, has said that elections in 1990 were heavily rigged and manipulated, adding that the reality of the succeeding elections during the decade of 1990s will be exposed one day. She said that we were not able to give our young generations anything except corruption and mismanagement. She said that the purpose for which this country was created has been lost along the way with the result that the country has been held hostage to the vested interests.
Ms Noshaba Zia said that the situation had come to such a pass that the dangers have been posed to the country today. She said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was coming to Pakistan on December 23 to save the country. She said that the people of Pakistan would extend historic welcome to him on his arrival in the country.
Ms Noshaba Zia expressed these views while addressing the Executive Council of MWL today. She said that the hundreds of women would join the welcome ceremony at the Minar-e-Pakistan along with other workers of MQI.
Ms Zia said that the given the challenges facing the country, it was about time that we made efforts to save the country than play politics for our vested interests. She said that the entire nation needed to play their role at collective and individual level to bring about change in the country.
