‘Youm-e-Azmat-e-Mustaf’ (PBUH) was celebrated on Friday around the world including Pakistan on the appeal of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The religious scholars in their Friday sermons spoke on the topic of Azmat-e-Mustafa (PBUH). The hundreds of peaceful rallies were taken out across the country including Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Dera Ismail Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sakhar, Sargodha and Faisalabad to demonstrate love, devotion and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
In addition to tens of thousands men and women, children also participated in these rallies in large numbers. The central rally was taken out from the central secretariat which was led by Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of MQI. It was attended by office holders and workers of different forums of MQI.
The rally passed through Faisal Town and took the form of a big public gathering at Akbar Chowk, Township. The protestors were carrying placards and banners. They asked the UN and other world bodies to legislate on the matter and enforce the existing laws so that no one dare commit contempt of any holy personage or a religion. The participants continued to offer Durood-o-Salam along the route of the rally. They asked the OIC to raise the issue at the UN level and get the international community to understand the sensitivities of the Muslims.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abbasi condemned the profane movie in the strongest possible words and dubbed it as an attempt to push the world into a civilizational clash. He said that those who took part in the blasphemous video project in any manner damaged the spirit of harmony, peace and coexistence. They in fact tried to spawn terrorism through their highly reprehensible action. He demanded that the makers of the movie should be brought to justice and proper legislation carried out as well as enforced to make sure that no repeat of such actions took place. He said that no religion allowed the violation of sanctity and respect of holy personages. He said that such efforts of the evil characters should be declared as crime against humanity and appropriate action taken in this regard.
