MWL visits Sindh & South Punjab for awareness campaign

Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (MWL) conducted a 4-day organizational tour of various districts of Sindh and South Punjab from November 07 to 11 as a part of campaign to prepare 20 million namazis. The various districts visited by the delegation of MWL included Karachi, Hyderabad, Tandu Adam, Dadu, Nawab Shah, Sakhar, Digree, Dherki, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Chishtian, and Haroonabad etc.

The local chapters of MWL were reorganized during the trip and special workshops were held with a view to raising public awareness among the masses.

In her speeches, Mrs. Razia Naveed, Secretary General of MWL, threw light on the prevailing state of affairs in Pakistan. She said that the country was up against a number of challenges both at internal and external fronts. She said that the nation was literally passing through the most critical juncture of its history. She said that doubts had been created in the minds of the people and they were less sure of their future. She said that poison of sectarianism and factionalism was being spread purposively which was dangerous for the unity and integrity of the motherland.

Mrs. Razia Naveed said that the nation did not know who to turn to for salvation, adding that in the absence of credible and competent leadership, the crises were getting worse with the country being bogged down in them. She said that people were talking about symptoms of the problem but did not have the foresight to address the root causes of the malaise which afflict us as a nation.

MWL Secretary General said that in his historic speech at mammoth public meeting on December 23, 2012 at Minar-e-Pakistan, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri dubbed the incumbent electoral system as the root cause of all our trials and tribulations, adding that the system did not allow a competent and truly representative leadership to emerge. She said that through historic Islamabad Long march, sit-in and boycott of elections, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri told the nation that unless they rejected the system, no improvement would take place. She said that that critical phase was merely calling of an azan. Now all efforts were being made for establishment of ‘Jamat of revolution’.

Mrs. Razia Naveed said that women had a great role to play in making this movement of change a resounding success. She said that they should follow the blessed lives of Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zuhra and Hazrat Zainab (AS). She asked them to convey the message of change in every household.

Syeda Shazia Mazhar, central Secretary Training of MWL, said that the Quaid had great expectations from the workers and they should do everything to rise to the occasion. She said that workers should prepare themselves for the challenges that lie ahead. She said that it was our responsibility to work for change through democratic and peaceful struggle. She resolved that the women workers of Pat would not disappoint their leader.
